What is test & tag?

Test & tag is the process by which all workplace electrical equipment and appliances are inspected, and if necessary repaired or replaced, to ensure that they adhere to Australia’s strict occupational health and safety guidelines (AS/NZS3760).

A failure to maintain these standards can lead to injury and even death in the workplace, and can result in costly lawsuits and criminal charges being laid against company management. Electrical testing and tagging should become a routine element of your workplace’s risk management strategy.

What does the test & tag process involve?

During a test & tag inspection, a qualified Tagteam technician will visit your workplace and examine all electrical appliances and equipment.

Each appliance, together with its cord and cord anchor, will be visibly inspected. Where necessary, equipment will also be subjected to electrical checks using Tagteam’s sophisticated testing equipment.

Once the test has been completed, the appliance will then be tagged and logged into Tagteam’s monitoring database, to record the date of the test and other relevant information. You will then have access to your equipment’s electrical testing history via your secure online client login.

Test & tag checks are carried out on all electrical appliances, extension leads, power tools, portable electrical equipment, and chord anchors in the workplace.
